Acceptable Use Policy
Version 2026-10-15
What you may not do on rent-gpu.app. Many hosts run machines on home internet connections, so abuse from an instance lands on a real person's line.
Draft for legal review. This document describes how rent-gpu.app works today, but it has not yet been reviewed by counsel and may change before launch.
Renters must not
- Store, process or distribute illegal content. We report child sexual abuse material to the authorities.
- Run malware, botnets, command-and-control servers, or phishing and credential-harvesting pages.
- Send attack traffic: denial of service, port scans, brute-force logins, or exploit attempts against systems you are not authorized to test.
- Send unsolicited email or other spam. Outbound mail on port 25 is blocked on every machine.
- Mine cryptocurrency, unless the listing says the host allows mining.
- Try to escape the container, access the host’s system or network, or interfere with our host software.
- Avoid or tamper with metering and billing, or use stolen payment methods.
- Infringe copyrights or other rights, or break export controls and sanctions. You may not use the service from embargoed countries or for prohibited end uses.
- Resell access to the service in a way that hides who is running a workload.
Hosts must not
- Inspect, copy or change a renter’s container, disk, memory or traffic. Our host software reports when someone runs commands inside a renter’s container.
- Misrepresent hardware, or interfere with hourly verification and benchmarks.
- Rent their own machines to inflate reliability or earnings.
- List machines they are not allowed to run, or connections whose provider forbids this use.
What happens if this policy is broken
Depending on how serious it is, we stop the instance, warn the account, suspend or ban it, or reverse earnings obtained by fraud. We publish the GPU identifiers of banned fraudulent machines. We may report crimes to the authorities and keep the evidence they need.
Reporting abuse
If traffic from our network is harming you, use the abuse form or email abuse@rent-gpu.app. Include the IP address or hostname, the time with time zone, and log lines. You do not need an account.
